The 2020 edition of the WDC NETWORK OF CITIES MEETING has the following introductory framework: “How to collaborate and use design as a tool for motivating citizens, helping to build new economic models and drawing up effective public policies.”
WORKS
Using this question as a springboard, this will be an opportunity for former and future World Design Capitals to share and exchange ideas in three key areas, with a collective ambition :
> FOCUS 1 : management and enrichment of the legacy of previous editions of World Design Capital, to promote the sustainable development of regions and improve quality of life for citizens;
> FOCUS 2 : dealing with the Covid-19 crisis by following a design and innovation approach;
> FOCUS 3 : evaluation and reiteration of the role of design as an essential tool for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
INVITED CITIES & ORGANIZATIONS
For the 2020 edition, Lille Metropole wished to involve its foreign partners as well as several national, European and international cooperation networks which work, through design, for the transformation of our cities and territories.
